Digital Twins in Long-term Healthcare

The shift towards predictive and preventative medicine is paramount. Digital twins have added value in various engineering fields - but not yet in the healthcare sector. The integration of AI into healthcare has been stymied by the absence of a foundational framework comparable to those in other domains. To change this, we are working on a holistic graphical multi-modal digital twin framework for functioning in elderly, that is characterized by its explainability, predictiveness, and integration of experts.

With this approach, we want to contribute towards enhanced long-term patient outcomes and want to accelerate the introduction of digital twins into healthcare research.
