Annika Bill

Annika holds a Master's degree in Health Sciences and Technology from ETH Zurich (2023), where she specialized in Human Movement Science and Sports. Her academic and professional journey has centered on biomechanics and physiology, with a strong emphasis on human movement, performance optimization, and translational applications in clinical and athletic settings.
Following her graduation, Annika worked at swissbiomechanics (an ETH Zurich spin-off), where she applied motion capture techniques for gait and running analyses in both athletes and patients. She has developed expertise in physiological testing, including isometric and dynamic strength assessments and electromyography (EMG), and has a robust foundation in the use of inertial measurement units (IMUs) for human motion analysis.
For her Master’s thesis, Annika collaborated with the Functional Biomechanics Group at University Hospital Basel, conducting statistical analyses on patient outcomes following ACL repair and reconstruction. As a research assistant in the same lab, she supported longitudinal gait data collection in patients after knee arthroplasty.
Annika also gained valuable practical experience through internships at Reha Rheinfelden, where she analyzed kinematics and kinetics in patients with neurological disorders, and at the Federal Institute of Sport Magglingen, where she conducted physiological performance assessments for elite athletes.
Since May 2025, Annika has been a research assistant at the SCAI Lab, where she is actively involved in study protocol development, data collection, ethical documentation, and the writing of scientific manuscripts.
