Dominik Wojcikiewicz
In 2019, Dominik graduated from Jagiellonian University with a bachelor's degree in interdisciplinary sciences. Then, in 2023, he graduated from ETH Zurich with a Master's degree in Micro- and Nanosystems. During his studies, he has been conducting research on the intersection of physics, sensing, and computer science.
Alongside his academic pursuits, Dominik has gained experience through internships and research projects. At the Paul Scherrer Institute, he contributed to the development of a state-of-the-art grating-interferometry breast diagnosis system. During his Master's degree, he worked as a research assistant at ETH, where he developed software for a DIY spray coater using 3D printing technology. Additionally, he interned at Sensirion, working on an Internet of Things (IoT) project focused on methane leak monitoring. Dominik completed his Master's thesis in collaboration between the Robotic Systems Lab (RSL) and the Micro- and Nanosystems group (MNS). The thesis aimed to apply capacitive fingers, developed by MNS, to robotic grippers used in RSL.
In May 2023, Dominik began his doctoral studies at the SCAI Lab. His research focuses on autonomous wheelchair navigation, encompassing hardware integration, machine learning-based user intention detection for shared navigation, and machine vision for obstacle avoidance.
Dominik likes to travel, inline skate, play board games, and practice the piano in his free time.
