Ioulia received her BSc in Exercise Science, with a minor in Health Sciences, from Missouri Baptist University in 2017. She completed her MSc in Human Movement Sciences, specializing in rehabilitation, in 2020. Following this, she earned a Post Graduate Certificate in Research Training from Newcastle University. Currently, she is nearing the completion of her PhD in Public Health from Northumbria University. Her research primarily focuses on adults with chronic conditions, aiming to enhance fatigue management through tailored, multidimensional strategies using mixed-methods research.

In addition to her academic endeavors, Ioulia has gained extensive experience through internships, research visits, and projects. During her BSc, she interned at the Social Neuroscience Lab at the University of Missouri-Saint Louis, contributing to both quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis. In 2024, she completed a three-month research visit at Swiss Paraplegic Research, where she conducted qualitative focus groups with clinicians to evaluate the potential value of wheelchair mobility metrics data. She has also worked on data collection and analysis for clinical trials in the UK, focusing on individuals with long COVID and multimorbidity.

In June 2024, Ioulia joined the SCAI Lab as a research assistant, where she is involved in study protocol design, writing, and documenting ethical protocols and research papers.

From 2010 to 2017, Ioulia was a professional race walker. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, exercising, and traveling.
